Veteran and Emmy award-winning Broadcast Journalist, Angela Robinson is currently Host and Executive Producer of the award-winning News and Public Affairs Talk Show, “IN CONTACT”. The first of it’s kind “IN CONTACT” is produced by the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, and airs on Atlanta’s PBS station, WPBA.  “IN CONTACT” is Atlanta’s only news and public affairs talk show that delivers topics and discussions from an African American perspective.

From 1994-1997 Angela was primary News Anchor for the Atlanta NBC affiliate, playing a key role in coverage of the 1996 Olympic games, Olympic Torch Run, Olympic Park Bombing, the Atlanta Abortion Clinic and Nightclub Bombings, The Super Bowl and World Series. Her duties at the NBC affiliate also included Public Affairs Talk Show Host. Prior to work in Atlanta, Angela spent 10 years at WTTG FOX Television's award winning newscast in Washington, DC., as  Reporter, Talk Show Host and Primary News Anchor. While with the Fox Network, Angela was instrumental in coverage of local and national news stories, and major sporting events, earning several Outstanding Awards of Excellence for her reporting and anchoring of News and Sports.   From 1978-1983 Angela worked as an Editor and General Assignment Reporter for the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, Ga. She played a key role in the coverage of Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered Children.

Angela is the winner of multiple Southern Regional Emmy Awards for her work as News Anchor, Talk Show Host, Performer, News Writer, Specialty Reporter, Feature Reporter, and Sports Reporting. She has earned awards from The National Association of Black Journalists and The Atlanta Association of Black Journalists for News and Sports Reporting, and for her work as Host & Executive Producer of “IN CONTACT”. Angela is the recipient of the ABSOLUTE AFRICA AWARD, honoring her commitment and contribution to the African American community given by ABSOLUTE INC. & Women Looking Ahead Magazine. A 2002 Biography Community Heroes Award recipient from Biography and A&E Television Network, and honored as Journalist of the Year by The Rainbow Push Coalition in 2005. Angela is also one of Atlanta’s top 100 Black Women of Influence honored by the Atlanta Business League. Angela was honored as the 2007 Pioneer Journalist by the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists.

A Graduate of Syracuse University, Angela was awarded the Chancellor’s Citation from Syracuse University for Distinguished Achievement in Journalism. She established the Angela Y. Robinson Endowed Student Scholarship Fund, and is a member of the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications Advisory Board at Syracuse University.  Angela is also a Telly Award winner, honoring excellence for her work in a video production with Syracuse University.

Along with her numerous awards and honors, Angela is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists Region 4 Hall of Fame. She holds membership and affiliation with several professional and community organizations including: The National Association of Black Journalists, The Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, The National Council of Negro Women, Who’s Who Among African Americans, Who’s Who in Black Atlanta, The 100 Black Men of Atlanta Inc. Success Circle, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Atlanta Press Club, Outstanding Young Women of America, Board Trustee for the Fund for Southern Communities, Ga. School Council, and Advisory Board Member for the Communications Magnet Program at Henry Grady High School, A Georgia School of Excellence.
