Instructions:

Entries must be in a presentation folder or spiral bound notebook.
Entries with loose clippings, poster boards or ringed binders will be disqualified; however, entries may be mounted on pressboards.
Series must be limited to no more than seven stories.
One entry per category; however, unlimited categories are accepted.

PLEASE be sure to use the correct category number. Category number is indicated directly in front of the category name.

PP-1 Deadline Reporting: Breaking news story on which the reporter had no more than a 24-hour deadline.

PP-2 Non-Deadline Reporting: News story, non-deadline, but not a feature.

PP-3 Hard Feature: Issue oriented story.

PP-4 Soft Feature: Profile, human interest, slice-of-life or humorous story.

PP-5 News Series: Series of no more than seven deadline or non-deadline stories on a single subject.

PP-5A Feature Series: Series of no more than seven stories on a single subject.

PP-6 Investigative Reporting: In-depth, original reporting by an individual or team of reporters.

PP-7 Community/Public Affairs: Story which presents an issue of public interest.

PP-8 Sports News: Issue oriented story.

PP-8A Sports Feature: Profile, human interest, slice-of-life or humorous story.

PP-8B Sports Series: Series of no more than seven news or feature stories on a single subject.

PP-9 Editorial: Analysis or commentary on a news event or issue.

PP-10 Photojournalism: Still photography to augment and/or tell a single story. Story must accompany photographs.

PP-11 Editing: Technical design or layout.

PP-12 Public Relations: Publicity or promotional material for a special project or event.
