"IN CONTACT" hosts lively discussions on a variety of topics that connect and impact the African-American community, including the community's triumphs and challenges. By delivering an African-American perspective and encouraging dialog on timely topics, "IN CONTACT" is unique among Atlanta television programming.
During its first two years, "IN CONTACT" aired on local access cable channel TV-33. The show debuted on its new home, Public Television WPBA TV-30 in February 2001 where it airs every Sunday morning.
"IN CONTACT" is hosted by veteran journalist and AABJ member, Angela Robinson.
REACH
By airing on WPBA Channel 30, "IN CONTACT" has the potential to reach over 1.5 million people in 500,000 homes throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. The show reaches, on average, 5,000 households each Sunday.
The "IN CONTACT" staff has traveled the world to bring its viewers unique slices of life from South Africa, Jamaica, Barbados and Kenya. In addition to its regular time slot, the two "IN CONTACT" shows on Kenya aired during prime time in November 2001.

In 2001, "IN CONTACT" won two AABJ Pioneer Black Journalist Awards:
- Best Individual Talent/Anchor - for "IN CONTACT" host, Angela Robinson
- Best Community/Public Affairs Program - for the "IN CONTACT" show titled "TV Blackout
The show has received two Southern Region Emmy Awards (of its three nominations) from the National Association of Television Arts & Science - Atlanta Chapter:
- 2000 - Best Host/Performer - for "IN CONTACT" host, Angela Robinson

QUALITY JOURNALISM
"IN CONTACT" is professionally produced out of the studios of WSB-TV Channel 2, Atlanta's ABC affiliate, which ensures the program is of the highest broadcast quality.
The program also serves as a training ground for professional-level members of AABJ who are interested in maintaining or starting a career in broadcast journalism.
Additionally, one of the shows main objectives is to serve student members of AABJ by providing them with internships and the opportunity to work on a regular basis with the show. |
